  • To make a new appointment with Dr Sergei Tsakanov, please call (02)90700797

    • New appointments require a GP Referral

  • For your consultation please bring the following:

    • GP referral or hospital discharge paperwork

    • Relevant investigations including Scans, Blood tests, previous surgery Reports and Letters from other specialists

    • Medicare, Private Health Fund, DVA, Pensioner, Disability or Health Care Card and Photo identification

Consultation fees

  • All consultations with Dr Sergei Tsakanov attract a fee which is partially reimbursed by Medicare or your Fund

    • First appointment fee is $200 ($78.05 rebate)

    • Follow-up appointment $100 ($39.25 rebate)

  • Consultation fees are payable at the time of your appointment

  • Pensioners and Health Care Card holders receive 50% discount

  • We accept credit and debit cards, cash or bank transfer but NO AMEX

    • there may be a small surcharge on Credit card payments

surgery fees

  • If Dr Sergei Tsakanov determines that you require surgery, you will receive an estimate of fees as part of the Informed Financial Consent

    • The Fee is payable 1 Week prior to your procedure

  • For the majority of cases done at a Private hospital, there will be an out of pocket cost, depending on the procedure

  • The rest, including costs of the operating room, nursing staff, hospital admission, surgical equipment is usually covered by your Health Fund

    • There may be an Excess payable to your Health Fund

    • It is very important to check that you are Covered for this procedure with your Health Fund

  • Your Anaesthetist may also charge a separate fee - please contact them prior to your surgery to confirm

  • Private patients in a public hospital are NOT charged an out of pocket fee

  • If you do not have Private Health Insurance but wish to be operated on at a Private Hospital, you will be liable for all costs associated with your procedure

    • We will assist you with claiming your Medicare Rebate that covers a portion of the costs

    • The rebate will appear in your bank account in 2-3 days

  • Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are entitled to a 50% discount on the Surgeon’s fee
